The purpose of a basking lamp is to simulate the heat produced by the sun, and thus support reptiles’ thermoregulatory needs. Both diurnal and nocturnal reptiles should have access to a heat lamp and basking temperatures appropriate to their species.
The Exo Terra Daytime Heat Lamp is a wide-beam heat bulb that provides gentle heating for species with low basking temperature requirements.
We recommend using this bulb with the Exo Terra Compact Top fixture rather than a dome lamp fixture for best results.
